The mountain calls the masses - and the masses follow the call. From the 1950s onwards, the Alps experience a tourist boom. In the post-war years, wanderlust enters people's hearts. People can now afford modest holidays and want to experience something. The Alpine region attracts visitors with relaxation, a dose of adventure and a portion of exoticism - without major language barriers. An irresistible mix of "at home" and "far away". Many families are travelling to the Alps for the first time. Behind them lies everyday life, in front of them the Großglockner. Comfort is a minor matter when travelling.
